Role Description

Unanet is seeking a candidate to fill the position of Manager, Technology Services ("Candidate").  The Candidate will be a member of the larger Professional Services (PS) team, and will lead the Technology Services Group within the PS team.  The PS team works with new and existing clients to configure the Unanet software and train client resources on the Unanet product.  The Candidate will work with members of the PS team to provide technical services and support during the implementation of new clients, as well as for the ongoing maintenance needs of existing clients. Those services and support include:

  • Developing integrations with 3rd party software systems, to include integrations hosted on Unanet's cloud-based integration platform
  • Developing custom functionality for clients to supplement Unanet product functionality, typically implemented via database stored procedures, Java programs, web services, or scripting languages.
  • Developing SQL scripts to modify client database data
  • Providing ongoing support to clients for the above technologies
  • Providing technical team leadership to a team of specialists
  • Interacting directly with both internal and external customers to manage scope and expectations for new projects

This full-time, exempt position is based out of our Dulles, VA office and will report to the Vice President of Professional Services. Applicants must be authorized for non-sponsored employment in the U.S. 

Job Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years leading technical teams
  • Minimum 4 years of experience in database programming, preferably with PL/SQL or Transact/SQL
  • Minimum 2 years of experience with Java programming and Java J2EE, JSP, Servlets, and JavaScript-based technologies 
  • Experience with applying design patterns to solve problems
  • Experience with Tomcat
  • Experience with Windows Server and Linux Server
  • Experience with project, resource, and time management
  • Ability to multi-task across multiple client projects
  • Strong written and oral skills
  • Consulting experience is a plus

General Responsibilities

  • The Candidate will be responsible for providing technical leadership to the TSG team in the following areas:
    • Developing the integrations and customizations described above
    • Maintaining and maturing Unanet's suite of integration modules
    • Maintaining integration code in a source code repository
    • Providing appropriate release management across multiple versions of the integration modules
  • The Candidate will lead the TSG team in working with client resources to install and configure the integration modules
  • The Candidate will lead the TSG team in providing general technical/IT support for existing clients
  • The Candidate will manage members of the Technology Services Group to support the Unanet business, and will be responsible for growing this team as needed.  These members will report to the Candidate.
  • The Candidate will work directly with customers to define the scope, level of effort and timeline for delivery as well as provide regular updates during implementation
